Ruth loved helping people! Whether it was a person down on his luck, an inmate at the Jefferson County Jail, or a fellow church member,Ruth was always helping. She was a charter member of Shively Christian Church. In charge of the nursery at church for many years. Kept track of donated food, clothing and other items so the church could help as many people as possible. In addition to that she was a Major at he Jefferson County Jail in the 1960,s & 70's. She was Warden "Bill" Kassulke's right arm everyone used to say! She retired and loved to travel, taking various trips abroad. As she aged arthritis limited her movement at times, but not her loving, caring spirit. She succumbed to cancer in December of 1996 at her sons home with family around her for her final days!
