He was born on September 22, 1921, in Swift Run, Virginia, to the late Moses and Rebecca Crawford. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Ann Morris Crawford; four brothers and one sister.
Aaron is survived by one sister, Mary Compton; two sons, Aaron T. Crawford Jr. and his wife, Marla, and Labon T. Crawford and his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Joan Burling and her husband, LaVon, and Paula Wyant and her husband, Winifred Jr.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Aaron retired from the University of Virginia Building and Grounds Department. He served in the United States Navy.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church, Scottsville, with the Pastor David Morris officiating.
The family received friends Monday, October 18, 2010, at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home.
