Funeral services for Ollie Alloway, 63, who died unexpectedly Saturday morning at his home on Freeze
Street, from a heart ailment, were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Whitson Funeral Home at three o'clock with A. S. Landiss, of the Cookeville Church of Christ and A. R. Hill of the Church of Christ, Glasgow, KY officiating.
A native of Greenhill, Mr. Alloway lived in Nashville for a number of years before coming to Cookeville.
Since becoming a resident of this city he was keenly interested in the business, civic and religious activities
of Cookeville and owned and operated the Alloway Produce Company. He was a member of the Church of Christ and 37 years ago was married to Miss Leila Maloney, of Cookeville, who survives.
In addition to his wife he is also survived by a son, James Alloway, and a granddaughter, Janet Alloway, both of Cookeville; a sister, Mrs. Ella Sadler, of Nashville. Another son, Ollie Alloway, Jr., was killed in action in January, 1945, while serving in the European Theater of War.
Burial was in the Cookeville Cemetery.
