SISTER OF JOHN JOLLY PASSED AWAY AT ELLIOTT, IOWA
It was with sincere sorrow that friends in El Dorado Springs received the announcement of the death of Mrs. Mary B. Davis of this city, which occurred last Saturday, December 7, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Weidman, at Elliott, la., where she had gone to spend the winter. Her death followed a stroke of paralysis, says the El Dorado Springs Sun. Mrs. Davis, the former Mary B. Jolly, was born November 14, 1863, in Pettis county, Missouri, and was over 77 years old. She was married to J. B. Davis April 4, 1880, who preceded her in death twelve years ago. To them were born seven children, five of whom survive her. They are Mrs. Minnie Hibbs, Chilhowee, Mo.; Mrs. Allie Weidmann, Elliott, la., Ernest Davis, Nevada, Mo.; Mrs. Mae Timmons and John A. Davis, El Dorado Springs. She also leaves one sister and two brothers, Mrs Margaret Little, Miami, Okla.; John Jolly, Nevada, Mo., and Jim Jolly, Blue Jacket, Okla. There are also eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The predeceased children were Charles Davis and Virgie Money. She was converted and joined the Methodist church early in life and was an active and faithful member as long as her health permitted. She was a loving and devoted mother, and an affectionate grandmother. She and her husband lived in Benton county, Missouri, the early part of their married life, moving to Calhoun, Mo., in 1908, where they lived until 1928. They moved to El Dorado Springs in August, 1928, where she had since resided. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at t o'clock in the Methodist church at Calhoun and were conducted by Rev. F. L. Standard, pastor of the El Dorado Springs Methodist church. Interment was in the Calhoun cemetery.
