He was the owner and operator of J. Eggleston Excavating Co. in Independence, Ky., a member of Loyal Order of Covington Moose #1469 and St. Patrick Church.
His son, John R. Eggleston Jr., preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Eggleston; daughter, Michelle Johnson of Independence, Ky.; mother, Loretta Eggleston of Independence, Ky.; brother, Bill Eggleston of Independence, Ky.; sisters, Helen Webster of Erlanger, Ky., Mary Eggleston of Fort Myers, Fla., Barb Armstrong of Independence, Ky.; Dorothy May of Columbus, Ohio, Rita Dickey of Highland Heights, Ky., Joyce Eggleston of Covington, Ky.; and Christina Harney of Independence, Ky.; and three grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19 at St. Patrick Church in Covington. Visitation will begin there at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19 Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill, Ky.
