Phyllis F. Hess-Fazenbaker, of Gettysburg, departed this life on the evening of October 10, 2010.

Born December 15, 1926 in Newville, she was the daughter of the late Rev. John Wilmer and Ada Pauline (Showvaker) Fry. She was the wife of Donald C. Fazenbaker of Gettysburg. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Selmar Warren Hess, Sr., who died November 26, 1975.

She loved antiques and had her own antique shop in Gettysburg for 25 years.

Phyllis was a member and a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was very active in Beta Sigma Phi for many years and enjoyed playing bridge. Mrs. Hess-Fazenbaker was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Gettysburg.

In addition to her husband Phyllis is survived by her two children, Bonnie Hess-Shockey and husband Mark, of Millersville, Selmar "Beau" W. Hess, Jr. and wife Sue, of East Berlin; three step-children, Philip "Flip" Fazenbaker, of Gettysburg, Timothy Fazenbaker, of Gettysburg, Joy Noel, of Gettysburg; six grandchildren, Lisa Ann Wilson, Matthew David Shockey, Selmar Christopher Hess, Andrew Henry Hess, Jennifer Elizabeth Hess, Hannah Irene Hess; nine step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Benton D. Fry, of York, John Wilmer Fry, of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Kirwood Oliver Fry.

Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
