WELLINGTON - Ruby Patterson Brown, 78, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in North Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Clinton, pastor of Woodlawn Baptist Church of Denison, and the Rev. James McLeod, pastor of First Baptist Church of Wellington, officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brown was born June 23, 1922, to George K. Patterson and Lelar Johnson Patterson, in Collingsworth County. Ruby graduated from Wellington High School with the Class of 1942. She married Jack Brown on Jan. 31, 1943, in Hollis, Okla. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2000.
Ruby was a resident of Amarillo for 20 years, until moving back to Wellington in 1978. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She also was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Brown of Denison and Johnny Lee Brown of Amarillo; a daughter, Jackie Lynn Boddye of Crowley, La.; a sister, Hazel Guill of Huffman; two brothers, Johnny Patterson of Hereford and Billy Joe Patterson of Wellington; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice and/or the First Baptist Church ladies auxiliary.
