Paralee Beaty Young, 96, of Cleveland, Tn., died Thursday morning, Oct. 7, 2010 in a local health care facility after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

A lifelong resident of Cleveland, Mrs. Young was the daughter of the late Carrie Butts Beaty and Rufus Beaty; and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Simon Bryant, Carl Ledford and Herman Young; her beloved daughter, Wanda Faye Bryant Holt; her sisters, Nellie Mae Beaty, Clemmie Beaty Hammond, Leo Beaty Leamon, Elsie Beaty Petit, Lois Beaty Wilds, Gladys Beaty German, Geraldine Beaty Wilson and their spouses; her brothers, Ellis Richard Beaty and Pastor R. L. Beaty; her lifelong friends, Wilson "Woody" and Zula DeLay; and many of her dear nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Young was a graduate of Bradley Central High School. She was much loved as Aunt Pat by her numerous nieces and nephews. She was a dearly loved grandmother and she was of the Christian Faith.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Mitzi S. DeLay of Chattanooga, Tony DeLay and his wife Anne, Paula Garner and her husband Billy all of Cleveland and Anna Williams and her husband Robbie of Charleston; her great-grandchildren, Heath DeLay, Lane DeLay, Michael Scoggins, Ashley McAlister and her husband Daniel and Owen Garner of Cleveland and Gloria and Matthew Williams of Charleston; two great-great-grandchildren, Ethan Scoggins and Alanna Scoggins of Cleveland; her lifelong friend, Deanie DeLay Sample; and several dearly loved nieces, nephews and their families.

The Remembrance of Life Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted Saturday, oct. 9 at 4 p.m. from the Fort Hill Cemetery with Steve Parks officiating. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. A Dove Release will conclude the services.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association Southeast Tennessee, 7625 Hamilton Park Dr., Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

The Family will receive friends from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 at the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
