Elizabeth Ann (Jackson) Surface, 63, wife of Forest A. Surface of Kiddsville Road, Fishersville, died on Thursday, October 7, 2010, at Augusta Health of heart failure.
She was born on December 19, 1946, in Newport News, a daughter of the late Marshall C. Jackson and Evelyn (Smith) Jackson Rowe.
Mrs. Surface was previously employed by Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind (VSDB) in Staunton as a house parent in Battle Hall.
She was a member of Annex United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, family members include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Curtis E. Stilley Jr. and Daniel W. and Jennifer A. Hite, all of Staunton; a step-daughter, Kristina M. Surface and her fiance, Jordan L. Turner of Williamsburg; and special friends: Faye Davis, Connie Losh, and Carolyn Spangler.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Louise Jackson Desco; and a niece, Tonia Marie Owens Cooper.
A funeral service will be conducted 2PM Monday, October 11, 2010, at Annex United Methodist Church by the Reverend Russell L. Heinrich. Family burial will follow at Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Dave Davis, Johnny Lane, Larry Wills, Stacey McCray, Joe Siron, Chad Cash, and James Lafon.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of VSDB.
