From the Staunton News, of the 11th inst, we get the following additional particulars of the death of Dr J E Arbuckle, mentioned in these columns last week:
For four weeks he had been very sick, having a severe attack of pneumonia. About ten days ago he had a decayed tooth extracted by Dr Jones, of Waynesboro, which had become diseased. Following the extraction an abscess formed in the jaw, which was lanced by Dr H H Henkel, of Staunton. It was then hoped he would improve, but being so prostrated he never recovered, and blood poison having developed little hopes of his recovery were entertained. On Saturday night he was paralyzed, and was unable to speak or take any food after that.
During Sunday and Monday he was unconscious and remained in the same condition until death. During his entire sickness he was carefully and watchfully nursed by his loving wife, who seldom left his bedside.
