~Anne Marie Abene Epley~

Mrs. Ann Marie Epley, 66, of Marion, died, Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at The McDowell Hospital.

Born Jan. 1, 1938 in Bloomfield, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Joseph Casper Abene and Gertrude Eleanor O'Connor Abene. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Epley was also preceded in death by her husband, James Crawford "Buddy" Epley and two brothers, Sonny and Jack Abene.

Mrs. Epley was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Food Committee.

Mrs. Epley is survived by a son, Sonny Epley of Rockwood, Tenn.; a daughter, Gail Ellis and husband, Jack, of Marion; and two grandchildren, Alex and Daniel Ellis, both of Marion.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday (Dec. 17, 2004) at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Tom Walker and Leo Kuykendall officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
