Hugh V. Hunneshagen
Hugh V. HUNNESHAGEN, 59, former Fulton county treasurer, died this morning at 8:45 o'clock in Woodlawn hospital, where he had been admitted at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Death, due to carcinoma, came after a serious illness of five months.
Mr. Hunneshagen resided at his farm on Ind. 14 at the north side of Lake Manitou. A lifetime resident of this community, he was elected to two two-year terms as county treasurer in 1938 and 1940. For many years he served as deputy assessor for Rochester township and he also farmed.
Born Jan. 10, 1904, in Union township, he was the son of Eugene and Anna LEITER HUNNESHAGEN. His marriage was July 1, 1922, in Rochester, to Geneva BROOKER, who survives.
Mr. Hunneshagen was a member of the Grace Methodist church and of the Elks and Moose lodges.
Surviving, besides the wife, are a son, Hugh [HUNNESHAGEN], Jr., Rochester; three daughters, Mrs. Randall (Roberta) FRIEDLAND, Portage, Ind.; Mrs. Dillard (Marilyn) HENDERSON, Birmingham, Mich., and Mrs. Dennis (Marcia) TAYLOR, Rochester; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Kathryn CENTNER, Arlington, Va.; two brothers, Ralph [HUNNESHAGEN], Monterey, and Chester [HUNNESHAGEN], Charleston, W. Va., and a half-brother, Walter [HUNNESHAGEN], Rochester
Last rites will be Friay at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. Ray MILLS officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Thursday.
