The funeral of A. C. Turner, a pioneer resident of Greene county, who died at his home in Turners early Friday evening will be held at the family residence at 2 o'clock this afternoon, followed by internment in the Turner cemetery. The Paxson Undertaking establishment is in charge of the funeral arrangements. The decedent, who was 70 years old, came to Greene county from Post Oak Springs, Tenn about 60 years ago and founded the town of Turner. He fought on the Union side in the Civil war and participated in nearly all engagements that occurred in this part of the state.
Mr. Turner is survived by a widow, three sons and three daughters The sons are Fred Turner of Sapulpa, Okla., and George and Ab Turner of Turner. Mrs. W. A. Greene of Springfield, Mrs. Ethel Moffitt of Monroe, La. and Mrs. Elizabeth Argenbright of Turner. Mrs. W. S. C. Dillard, Mrs. W.P. Raney and Mrs. S. A. Reed are sisters.
