Funeral services for Mr. Campbell will be on Monday December 21, 2009 at 2 pm at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Lexington, with burial to follow in Barnett Cemetery. Mr. Campbell will lie in state from 1pm until 2 pm. Waylon Hill and David Cox will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday December 20, 2009 from 6 pm until 9 pm at Elkins East Chapel in Center Star.
Mr. Campbell was a retired security guard from Champion Paper. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Nona Campbell, his son, Roger Dale Campbell, his baby infant girl, and his brother, Harold McElyea.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife, Wynell Campbell; his daughters, Virginia Lovell (John) and Mary Lovell (Jimmie); his son, James Dwight Campbell (Sharon); his sister in laws, Tessie Mance and Mildred Burney; 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Allen Hambright, Jonathan Parker, Timothy Scroggins, Geremy Peterson, Raymond Pendergrass, Donald Crosslin, Zachary Kinsley, and Nyck Mance. Honorary pallbearers will be C. J. Kellum, Riley, Kolbi, and Avery Pendergrass.
Elkins East Chapel of Center Star is assisting the family.
