From Mabel Frankforter Boger documentation:
Philip Frankforter married Elizabeth _____. Both born in Frankfort, Spitzerland (Germany?). Sailed for Baltimore MD about 1788, Elizabeth had red hair. Grankfatehr clock made in 1774 by Jacob Gordon and an old jar made by Philip's father were brought from Switzerland. Both were later in possession of Andrew Frankforter who handed them down to George Bell Frankforter, Minneapolis MN. Uncle Noah Frankforter thinks the clock was made in American, but that the jar may have been made in Switzerland and that the jar was older than the clock. (Another version - Philp came to America when single with his two brothers of whom he lost track.)
Handwritten note: Ed (E. E. Frankforter) writes in 1956 that Philip came from Frankfort Germany to Pittsburg PA, then to Youngstown OH, then to Grand Rapids OH.
