Robert Anderson "Bob" Martin married Parthenia Emiline Franks. Together they had four sons and two daughters. They named their first son, William Denton Martin, after his father William John Martin and her father Elisha Denton Franks. Their other children are Dollie Rosa Martin Wilson, Pickney Nebraska "Brass" Martin (1882-1951), Nevada "Vadia" Jane Martin, Albert Franklin Martin,and Robert "Morris" Martin

After the death of his wife Parthenia, he was left with six children under the age of 13 years old. He then married Mary Clifton Archer on May 3, 1891. Together they had one son, Calvin "Grady" Martin.
