She was born June 16, 1940, in Unionport, Ohio, the daughter of the late William E. Giffin and Leona V. McNemar Giffin of Unionport, with whom she resided.
She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Joyce Giffin.
Janet was a member of Unionport United Methodist Church where she was very active in Sunday school.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two brothers, Donald (Susan) Giffin of Bloomingdale and Gerald Giffin of Unionport; two sisters Linda Jean (Richard) Brownlee of Bloomingdale, and Carolyn K. (Dave) Taylor, of Wintersville; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, on Sunday 1-3 and 7-9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. Rev. Debra Kellar and Rev. Hubert Granger will officiate.
Burial at Fort Steuben. Memorial contributions may be directed to Unionport United Methodist Church.
