He is the son of Mr. Merle & Mrs. Lillie {Polle Ford} of Bellevue, Illinois. Pfc. Ford went through the Elmwood School System, Class of 1940, and was employed at Altorfer Brothers of Peoria before his enlistment in October of 1942. He leaves two sisters, Miss Betty and Miss Helen, and three brothers, Glen, Clyde, and Lester of Bellevue.
Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, American Campaign Medal, European Campaign Medal with 2 Battle Stars, Army Good Conduct Medal, WWII VIctory Medal.
Footnote: Pfc. Ford's body was brought home for burial in Peoria on July 27, 1948.
