MRS. ALBERT ABEL
Mrs. Mary Ellen Abel, 38 years old, 124 Cedar Avenue, wife of Albert Abel, and lifelong Peoria resident, died at 2:20 a.m. yesterday August 2, 1942, at St. Francis hospital.
The daughter of Andrew and Dora Watkins Smith, she was born in this city (Peoria) August 20, 1903. She was married to Albert Abel here January 28, 1925.
Mrs. Abel was a member of St. Mark's Catholic church and the Mother's club of St. Mark's school.
Survivors are her husband, her mother, both of Peoria; three children, Aleene, Mary Ellen and William Abel, all at home; three sisters, Mrs. J. M. Shanahan, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mrs. W. J. Campbell, and Miss Catherine Smith, both of Peoria; and two brothers, Andrew Smith, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Thomas Smith, Peoria.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Boland Mortuary and at 9 o'clock at St. Mark's Catholic church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the mortuary after 3 p.m. today, and there will be recitation of the Rosary at 8 o'clock tonight.
