"Burt Greenberry Moore, was a hard drinking, profane dynamo who, according to his minister, moved 'on foot in a kind of dogtrot and on horseback at a gallop.'[Burt's Methodist Minister was the Reverend Gilmore.] His pastor believed Burt's rough edges were due to his hard upbringing in the mountains of North Carolina, but from what little is known, Burt's youth appears to have been no more difficult than anyone elses."
