Arriving in Philadelphia on 28 Nov 1874, on the ship "Netherland", she and husband Constantinus DeBlieck, went to Hudson, Illinois. Destination was actually Hudson, Ohio. It is believed, through translation errors, they boarded mode of travel to Hudson, Illinois instead of Hudson, Ohio.
Three young children were with the family in Illinois in 1880, all born in Holland - Henry age 10, Caroline age 4, and John age 1. A young daughter Albertina, was born in 1874 in the Netherlands, but died by 1880. Burial place unknown, but likely in Illinois. Two of the oldest children died in Hoofdplaat, before Minnie and Constant came to America. They are: oldest son Pieter who died in 1871 in Hoofdplaat; and oldest daughter Elizabeth who died in 1873 in Hoofdplaat. Between 1871 and 1880, Minnie and Constant lost at least three children.
