Aust, Kenneth Thomas Age 87 of Brentwood, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Tennessee Veterans Home in Murfreesboro. Mr. Aust was born on August 7, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Richard H. Aust and Alvina Bundow Aust. He was the husband of the late Delcie Louise Aust, who passed away on May 26th, 2009. He is survived by daughters, Deborah (Bob) Hall and Allison (Carl) Remmele; grandchildren, Stephanie (Todd) Davis, Angela (Brian) Bozich, Keith Mercer, Charles (Kim) Hall and Nathan Hall; great grandchildren, Nick Bozich, Allen Davis, Austin Bozich and William Davis. Private graveside services will be Monday at Middle TN State Veterans Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association , 4205 Hillsboro Rd., Suite 200, Nashville, TN 37215 Alzheimer's Association , 4205 Hillsboro Rd., Suite 216, Nashville, TN 37215. In 1941, Mr. Aust joined the Civilian Conservation Corp, he was a WWII veteran, having served in the US Marine Corp in Okinawa. During WWII, he received a Purple Heart for injuries he sustained. Following the war in 1953, he received a BS in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. Mr. Aust was successful engineering consultant for the military and commercial aircraft industry in Europe and the US, with Lockheed, Avco and Boeing, among others. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge in Sandy Springs, GA, enjoyed playing cards, gardening, bowling and traveling.
