Mollie Adline Powell Curry, 92, was born October 21, 1914 in Sadie, Oklahoma and died September 15, 2007 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Thomas Powell and Lillie Mae Hom Powell of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. In 1936, she married Aaron Buster Curry in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. They lived in California, moved back to Oklahoma in 1939 and later to the Wainwright area where they operated a dairy farm for many years until retirement. Mollie exalted in her Baptist faith, adored her son and grandchildren, loved to joke, talk and make new friends and was very proud of her Cherokee heritage. She was a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and a descendent of the John Horn family; prominent Cherokees. Mollie is survived by her son Aaron Thomas Curry and wife, Shirley of Muskogee, and son, Dr. Todd Curry and wife Mickey of Grandview, Missouri, granddaughter, Jill Curry Stone and husband Jeff of Oktaha, Oklahoma, two great grandchildren Cory and Holly Robinson of Grandview, Missouri, several beloved nieces and nephews and her friend at Pleasant Valley Health Care Center and Greenleaf Apartments. She was preceded in death by her husband Aaron, brothers, Louis, Jerry and Joe Powell and sisters Avious Toombs, Rebecca Davis, Julia Carleton and Kate Sasser. Funeral services will be at Sallisaw City Cemetery Gazebo on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Wendell Cox officiating under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
