Morris Newton Phillips, 78, of Sunrise Beach, Mo., formerly of Kansas City, died Saturday at a nursing home in Versailles, Mo. He was born in Neosho, Mo., and had lived in this area most of his life before moving to Sunrise Beach in 1974. Mr. Phillips worked at Greenlease Cadillac more that 40 years before he retired as service salesman in 1964. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Phillips of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Sondra Peterson, Leawood; a sister, Mrs. Lucile Wheeler, Kansas City, Kansas; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Mount Moriah Chapel; burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the chapel.
