Jefferson Charles Wright, eldest son of Joseph and Margaret Wright was born November 20, 1861 in Eugene, Vermillion, Indiana and died June 13, 1926 at his home two and a half miles southeast of Everton, being 64 years, 5 months, 5 days.
He married Laura Wills April 14, 1890 and to this union were born two daughtrs and one son, who died in infancy. His wife, Laura, died December 10, 1911, leaving his with the two daughters to care for.
He married Effie Wisehart on March 31, 1914. Four children were born to them, the eldest son dying at age 4.
He was converted in 1900 at the old Ray Springs school house and joined the Ray Springs church in 1901, being faithful till the end. Attending church as long as his health permited.
Funeral services were held at Sinking Creek Schurch with Rev. W.R. Russell and Bro. Will Hodson officiating. He was laid to rest beside his wife, Laura.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Effie; 2 sons, Ernest and Joseph; 3 daughters, Mamie Cunningham, Mrs. Frankie Hixon and Doris Killingsworth; 2 grand children; 1 brother, Homer of Everton; 3 sisters, Lula Lockwod of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Martha Wills and Minnie Wormington of Carthage.; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
The family has lost a good husband, and father, the community a good neighbor and friend, but we do not weep as those who have no hope.
