Benjamin Cottrell passed from his earthly life on April 8, 2010 to join those preceding him. He was born in Seagoville, Texas on June 25, 1945. Ben was preceded in death by parents Ernest and Lela Mae Cottrell; brothers Jimmy Thomas and Arnold Burton Cottrell; sister Janey Sue Stewart and cousin Roy Ray Johnson. He is survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed by those he left behind, but we can take comfort in he is now with the Lord and reunited with those he loved. Ben worked for the majority of his life for Tom Thumb food stores in various positions, including stocker and assistant manager. He later worked for Diamond Shamrock until his early retirement. Ben lived most of his adult life in the East Dallas area crossing the paths of many. Ben was a light to all who became his friend and always had time to help those he met. A private family service is to be held, followed by interment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Seagoville.
