Frank L. Elder, Ringgold, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010. He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and North Georgia. Mr. Elder was a graduate of City High School in Chattanooga and was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He was the Host of the "Swap Shop" on UCTV-3 and was also Advertising Sales for 16 years at the station. He also was in advertisement and sales at the Chattanooga News Free Press. Mr. Elder was a member of the Brainerd Optimist Club in Chattanooga with 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Pauline "Polly" Herndon Elder; mother, Fannie Ann Evans Elder, father, George Hamilton Elder, and sister, Louise Eakes. Survivors are his daughters, Allison A. (Charles) Barron, Ringgold, Robin L. (Jordon) Silon, Franklin, Tenn; grandchildren, Micah Shea Lea, Canton, Ga., Tallon Kent (Angel) Snyder, Augusta, Ga., Logan Evan Snyder, Ringgold, Colby Franklin Silon, Wilmington, North Carolina, and Peyton Taylor Silon, Franklin, Tenn. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tommy Crider, Rev. Bill Gardner, and Rev. Larry Gordy officiating. Interment in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
