Betty Irene Gilding, 92, of Charlotte, MI, died on Sunday, April 27, 2014. She was born in Chester Township, Michigan on August 16, 1921, the daughter of Don and Veda (Larabee) Wright. Betty married Vern Gilding Jr. in January 1944. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and most of all, her grandchildren. She loved getting together with her brothers, sisters, and their families, whether it was Friday night bonfires, Sunday gatherings for dinner or a picnic, or Saturday night movies shown on the side of the barn.
Mrs. Gilding is survived by son David (Sandy) Gilding of Charlotte, daughter Diana Oglesby of Eagle, son Rod (Gloria) Gilding of Bellevue, and daughter Renee (Jim) Doroh of Benton Harbor, siblings Wendall Wright of Vermontville, Larry (Patty) Wright of Charlotte, Patty (Max) Butler of Eaton Rapids, and Phyllis Bothwell of Fountain, brother-in-law Raymond Grant of Charlotte, sisters-in-law Alice Edwards of Grand Ledge, Barbara Wright of Charlotte, and Bonnie Wright-Warner of Charlotte, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Vern, parents, Don and Veda Wright, brothers Lester Wright, Carroll Wright, and Dewayne Wright, sister Esther Grant, sister-in-law Dema Wright, and brother-in-law Stanley Bothwell.
