(LANETT) Resa Rice Pollard, 89, of Lanett died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004,
at her residence.
Funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m. at McCarthy Funeral Home
in West Point, Ga., with the Rev. Gerald Sykes officiating. Burial followed at
Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett.
She is survived by her son, David Rice of Lanett; three grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and her sister, Polly Hogg of Columbus, Ga.
Mrs. Pollard was born Aug. 18, 1915, in Randolph County, the daughter of the
late Lillie Mae Wallace Treadwell and Bruce Treadwell. She was a retired
employee of Charter Communications, formerly Sammons Communications, with 30
years of service. Mrs. Pollard was an avid flower gardener and loved her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
