She was baptized in infancy. In 1913, she was united in marriage to Leo Bodtke, this union was blessed with seven children. Two children preceded their mother in death, one daughter died in Montana and an infant daughter passed away at the Hebron hospital on Sept. 12.
Soon after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Bodtke moved to Canada, two years later they moved to Montana. In 1922, the came to Gilead and moved onto a farm south of town where they have since made their home.
Mrs. Bodtke passed away at the Hebron hospital September 15, at the age of 37 years, 1 months and 28 days.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband; 5 children, Pearl, Vivian, Clifford, Delores and Norma, all at home; 3 brothers, all of New York; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Sept. 17, from the home and the Lutheran church. Burial was in the Union Cemetery southeast of town.
