Thomas Yale Bristoll, 81, passed away on a Saturday afternoon at Vassar Brother's Medical Center in Poughkeepsie with his devoted son at his bedside.

He was born on August 23, 1928 in New Britain, CT the son of the late Alan Yale and Frances (née Kenly) Bristoll.

Mr. Bristoll worked as a dairy herd manager for the Tymor Farm in LaGrangeville, NY. Later, he was a part-time policeman in the state of Massachusetts, and then worked for IBM in Kingston and Poughkeepsie until his retirement in 1990. He served with the United States Army in the Military Police during the Korean War.

Tom was a member of the Stanford Fire Company until his passing. A talented photographer all his life, he was often seen with his camera recording many events in Stanfordville, NY and neighboring towns in the Hudson Valley.

He was an avid fisherman, and with his dog, a cocker spaniel named "Poo-Fod" they toured Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine looking for the best places to fish. In later years, he enjoyed the companionship of his dog "Bubba" and cats Mittens, Squeaker and TC at his Stanfordville house overlooking Hunns Lake.

Survivors include his son, Ben Bristoll of Vestal, NY; a brother T.K. Bristoll and his wife Karen of South Kortright, NY; three nieces, Amy Blum, Bonnie Bristoll, Cindy Bristoll; and his extended family, Millie and Dennis Williams and their children, Dennis, Cassandra and Jessica. He was predeceased by a nephew, Alan Bristoll.
