Nehhad Abdullah, age 60, passed away after a long battle with cancer, on August 22, 2010, surrounded by his loved ones.

In 1979, Nehhad, a native of Syria, moved from Abu Dhabi to Austin, Texas, and eventually made his home in Detroit, Michigan. In Detroit he met the love of his life and had three sons.

In 1986, Nehhad and his family moved to Burbank, after which they settled in Canyon Country, where Nehhad spent the remainder of his life. In Canyon Country Nehhad and his wife raised their sons, who attended Cedarcreek Elementary School, Sierra Vista Junior High School and Canyon High School, and spent weekends watching their sons' soccer and football games and visiting family.

Nehhad is survived by his wife, Chamoun, and three sons, John (Samantha), Jason (Becky) and Jamil. He also leaves behind a very large and loving family spread throughout southern California, Detroit, New York, Canada and Syria.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 10 a.m., and a memorial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ephraim's Church, 900 North Glenoaks Boulevard in Burbank.
