Rev. Charlie C. Dye
Kingsport, TN - Rev. Charlie C. Dye, 81, of Kingsport, passed away Monday, July 20, 2009 at Holston Manor, Kingsport, TN.

Charlie was born November 3, 1927 in Abingdon, VA. He was the son of the late Corbette & Doshi Thomas Dye.

Rev. Dye was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and for over 40 years, along with his wife Eileen, faithfully served as a United Methodist minister to many area churches's of the Holston Conference.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Eileen Dye; one son, C. Wayne Dye; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by one son and daughter in law, Gary & Jan Dye of Kingsport, TN; daughter in law, Carolyn Dye of Greeneville, TN; grandchildren, Kevin Dye and wife Lori of Greeneville, TN and Alex Dye of Kingsport, TN; one great grandson, Christian Wayne Dye of Greeneville; sisters in law, Betty Dye of Abingdon, VA, Mildred Henderson of Abingdon, VA and Kathryn Surber of Bristol, VA; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 21, 2009 from 5 to 8 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday July 22, 2009 at 10:30 am at Knollkreg Memorial Park, Abingdon, VA with Rev. Jack Edwards, officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Retired Ministers of Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked those wishing to honor Rev. Dye���s memory, to make memorial contributions to the church of their choice.

Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Dye family.
