ROCKBRIDGE MAN DROWNS
Alfred Beard Huffman, 29, died Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. when he drowned at Rockbridge Baths. He was born Dec. 9, 1920, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Huffman, Route 1, Raphine.
Surviving are three children, Marvin, William, and Shirley, all of Augusta County; five sisters, Mrs. Wallace Moran, Mrs. Lusby Moran, and Mrs. Catherine Toman, all of Staunton, and Mrs. Robert Hite, Greenville, and Miss Margret Huffman, Raphine.
Eight brothers also survive: William H., Staunton, Route three; Earl E., Ellard; Joseph, Staunton, Route one; Hansford, Raphine; Grover, serving in the U. S. Navy; Roy Lee, with the U. S. Army in Germany; Hunter H., and Charles H., both of Raphine.
The body will remain at the Rosen Funeral Home, Middlebrook, until funeral arrangements have been completed.
