Warren G. Shadwick, 87, of East Ridge, died on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at his home.

Mr. Shadwick was born in Jasper, Tn., to Samuel and Daisy Shadwick. He retired from Container Corporation, was of the Baptist faith, and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was also a U.S. Army WWII veteran, serving in the European Theatre, and was a recipient of a commendation letter for his rescue efforts following the I.G. Farben Chemical Plant explosion at Ludwigshafen, Germany.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn Shadwick; son, Brian Shadwick and wife Alice; grandchildren, Michael Shadwick and wife, Tonia, and Somer and Sunshine Shadwick; great-grandchildren, Jamie and Michelle Shadwick and Shane and Adin Morgan; brother, Calvin Shadwick; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., with funeral services at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens South, Rossville, Ga.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
