H. Earl Balfour
St. Clair - H. Earl Balfour, age 86, of St. Clair, died Wednesday, September 21, 2005.
Earl was born February 25, 1919 in St. Clair to the late Russell and Laura Balfour.
He was a life member of First United Methodist Church, St. Clair; was a life member and past master of the Masonic Evergreen Lodge #9 F. & A.M. and past high priest of the Royal Arch Masons #12. He retired from Michigan Consolidated
Gas Company and farmed all his life.
Earl is survived by his two sisters, Donna (Robert) Tassie and Gladys (Vern) Campbell; brother-in-law, Gerald Emig; and sister-in-law , Mary Jane Peyton; and many nieces and nephews and friends who helped Earl continue his farming as he got older.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret and brother, Kenneth.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 P.M. today and 1 to 8 P.M. Sunday from the L. C. Friederichs and Son Funeral Home, St. Clair.
He will lie in state on Monday from noon until the service time at 1 P.M. from the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Don Gotham will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, St. Clair or the Evergreen Lodge # 9 F. & A.M.
