Atlanta GA - Gayle Archer passed away on August 30, 2010, in Atlanta, GA. She was the daughter of Carey and the late Martha McDonald. She graduated from Ocala Forest High School in 1973, attended Furman University and CFCC, and received her B.S. Degree in Business Administration from Florida State University in 1978. She was employed as a capital markets specialist at the Nation's Bank in Atlanta for seven years prior to her marriage to William W. Archer, Jr., in 1985. Gayle is survived by her husband, William, daughter Elizabeth Skye (18) freshman at Georgia Tech; son William III (15), student at Woodland High School; father Carey E. McDonald; brother Dale McDonald, Maitland; nephew Matthew McDonald; in-laws William W. Sr. and Jackie Archer of Sparta, GA; maternal aunt and uncle, Thomas and Mary Moore of Winter Park; paternal uncles Roy Charles and Fred McDonald of Waycross, GA. Gayle was active in Henry County community activities. She served as a substitute teacher and an officer in the PTA's of her children's schools- She was very active in the Woodland High School athletic booster' club. Her leadership and enthusiasm will be sorely missed as the school year and football season move forward. Funeral services for Gayle Archer were held at the First United Methodist Church in Stockbridge, GA on Thursday, September 2, 2010. Interment followed in the U.S. National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
