Nappanee, Ind. ~ Danial E. Kemp, 77, 9773 W. 1050 North, died at 10:04 p.m. Tuesday in the emergency room of Elkhart General Hospital. He was born Dec. 11, 1922, in Lincoln, Neb. To Ealis and Mattie (Glick) Kemp. On Feb. 9, 1943, he married Clara Mae Miller in Nappanee.

Kemp was a retired farmer and factory worker. He was member of Old Order Amish Church.

Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Arlene (Mrs. Walter) Schwartz, Etna Green, Eva (Mrs. Walter) Burkholder Jr., Wilma (Mrs. Tim) Mast and Marilyn (Mrs. Richard) Yoder, all of Nappanee; five sons, Eldon Kemp, Garnett, Kan., Marvin, Harvey, Raymond and Melvin Kemp, all of Nappanee; 48 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and a stepbrother Monroe Kemp, Muncie.

He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Travis Dean (66848473) and Ivan Eugene Miller (82994561) and a great-granddaughter, Karen Sue Schwartz (57969922).

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday and all-day Thursday at the Ray Kemp residence, 9699 West 1050 North, Nappanee. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the home of Ray Kemp. Bishop John Henry Borkholder of Old Order Amish Church will officiate.
