Son of Forest Kelly and Edris Smith McCloud. He graduated from Keytesville High School in May 1961. While in high school Gary excelled at track setting several records and played basketball his Junior and Senior years. He also was class officer, student council member and participated in music and the Junior Play. At the time of his death he was a freshman at North East Missouri State Teachers College at Kirksville. Death was due to a motor vehicle accident. Funeral services were conducted at the Keytesville High School gymnasium by Rev. Dwight Bonham. Pallbearers were classmates.
