West Columbia - Ashton Avon (Bo) Shuler, 92, of West Columbia, SC passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, June 11, 2021. He was the son of the late A.A. Shuler, Sr. and Lillian Evans. He began his work career, as a Master Plumber at Walker Plumbing and Heating Company. He retired as president of the company which was a large commercial heating and plumbing contractor. He also proudly served for over 40 years in the South Carolina Army National Guard rising to the rank of Colonel. Mr. Shuler's profession affiliations include American Arbitration Association, Chairman of the S.C. Municipal Association Plumbing Exam Board, S.C. Building Code Council, City of Columbia Plumbing Board, Plumbing Inspector for the Town of Springdale, and S.C. Mechanical Contractors Association and Woodmen of the World Lodge 273. He was a lifelong faithful member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He served as Chairman of Church Council, taught Sunday school, and served on various committees. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Stella Roof Shuler; brothers, Owen Shuler, Lynn Shuler, Buford Shuler, Howard Shuler; sisters, Judith Shuler Kleckley, Cherry Shuler Blanton; daughters Donna Shuler Wilson, and Darlene Shuler Wooten. Mr. Shuler is survived by sisters, Eva Shuler Williams, Linda Shuler Jacobs; brother, Danny Shuler; daughters, Debbie Shuler Miles (Robert), Charlene Shuler Corley (Wayne); 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and special friend Lois Bouknight. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 2491 Emanuel Church Road, West Columbia, SC 29170 with interment to following the church cemetery.
