Earl J. Cheshire

Mr. Earl J. Cheshire, 70, of Blackshear died Friday morning at his residence. He was born in Ware County to the late Charlie Cheshire and Mattie Jane Lee Cheshire. He had made Waycross and Blackshear his home for most of his life. Mr. Cheshire worked for Gilman Paper Company and was a member of the Church of God faith. He was a Past President of the Union of International Paper Workers. Mr. Cheshire was also a member of the Blackshear Masonic Lodge Number 270. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene Cheshire, J.W. Cheshire, Charles Cheshire, and three sisters, Doris Rigdon, Mildred Conner, and Shirley Potter.

Mr. Cheshire is survived by a daughter, Dana Lynn Folsom and her husband Mickey of Cocoa, Florida, two granddaughters, Rebekah Folsom and Kendall Folsom both of Cocoa, Florida, his former wife, Ruby Cheshire of Blackshear and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Walkerville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
