H.P. Owen, who would have been 75 tomorrow, died about 10:15 last night at Baptist Hospital after an apparent heart attack. Memphis Funeral Home has charge. Mr. Owen lived at 1542 Galloway. He was a member of Union Avenue Church of Christ and was a retired chief dairy inspector for the Memphis-Shelby County Health Department. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sue Davis Owen; four daughters, Mrs. Lillian Owen Lang of 45 South Idlewild, Mrs. William D. Cannon of 205 South Fenwick, Mrs. Pat Gallagher of 1364 Vicoscia, and Mrs. Robert L. Spencer of 1326 Vicoscia; a brother, S.M. Owen of 3327 Faxon; a sister, Mrs. Jesse DeShazo of 3377 Coleman, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. (Published in The Commercial Appeal, Memphis, TN, on May 31, 1968)
