Cecil L. seaman, 76, of Sanford, died peacefully at his residence on Sunday, March 17, 2002 and went home to be with his Lord. He was born April 3, 1925 in Clare County, son of the late Albert and Elfleda (McClung) Seaman. He married the former Dorothy May Clark on August 6, 1942 in Midland. Cecil served in the United States Army in the Philippines during World War II and was discharged in 1945 after being wounded and receiving the Purple Heart. He was employed with the Dow Chemical Company retiring in 1979 after 37 years of service. Cecil was a member of the New Hope Community Church of God where he served as a deacon. He was active and was always busy doing something. He had enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping all of his life. Surviving in addition to his wife Dorothy of 58 years, is one daughter Pretoria (Larry) Maxwell of Hope; his son-in-law, John (Sally) Miller of Midland; grandson, Terry Maxwell of Hope; step-grandson, Matthew (Barbara) Miller of New Jersey; step granddaughter, Martha (Don) Tanner of California; sisters, Elsie Smith of Midland, Erma (Cecil) Rydman of Beaverton, Myrtle (Elmer) Lackie of Barryton; brother, James (Mildred) Seaman of Coleman, and a sister-in-law, Elsie Seaman of Hillman. He was predeceased by a daughter Diane Miller, son-in-law, James Welton, brother, Richard Seaman and a brother-in-law, Melvin Smith. Cecil will be greatly missed by all.

SERVICES
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002 from the New Hope Community Church of God, 6424 Middle Road, Hope. Pastor Jim Pauquette will officiate with burial to follow in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

VISITATION
Cecil's family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St., on Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
