Gene was my Aunt Allyne's husband.

He was the only child born to Lewis Imanuel Brust and Loda Clyone Givens.

He was married to Allyne Miler CAMPBELL on July 11th, 1942 in Houston, TX.

During WWII he served in the U.S. Navy as a cook. Gene told the family the story of how he would have been on Pearl Harbor during the attack, but someone in his group came down with polio and their group was quarantined for about two or three weeks delaying their departure for Hawaii. Lucky for him I'd say.

Gene died of a heart attack while sitting in his favorite chair watching TV. He was only 55 years old. Allyne never remarried after Gene's death. They had no children so my brother, sister and I became their "kids".
