Robert Wallace Lindley was born March 30, 1913 in Young County, Texas to Ransom Cary Lindley from Illinois and
Beadie Perchina Stringer. He was one of four children.
He was married to Clementine"Clemmie" Day Cooper(daughter of Dommie Jetty and Margie Jannie Badgwell Cooper) on April 1, 1933 by J.Dale Thorn(Minister) of Young County.
He and Aunt Clemmie had two children-Jackie Wallace Lindley who was born stillborn on January 9, 1934 and another son Billy Wayne Lindley.
He was a Lay minister in the Baptist Church and he and Aunt Clemmie attended the Loving Avenue Baptist Church-Loving Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas for many years. Later years the family lived on Kimbro Road. He loved to hunt and fish and he and his son Billy Wayne would come up to the family farm in Young County to hunt quail and Dove.
He retired from one of the Aircraft manufacturing plants in the Metroplex area. He was machinist for Chance Vought.He was in the WPA program in 1940
He was preceded in death by his infant son, his parents and his wife, Clemmie Day Cooper Lindley. He was also preceded in death by his grandson Dan Wallace Lindley and his Great-granddaughter Salina Joyce Lindley(both Dan and Salina Joyce perished in the Hurricane of 1989 in Galveston County, Texas).
Survivors were son, Billy Wayne Lindley and wife Jimmy Joyce Bell of Portland, Texas, granddaughter Selah Lenora Lindley Stewart and husband Herbert Eugene of Beaumont, Texas; two great grandchildren, Philip Wayne Stewart and Danielle Marie Stewart.
He was also survived by his siblings: Joe B. Lindley of Graham, Texas; sisters, Lilliam M. Bourland and Maxine Faye Cardwell, both of Vernon, Texas.

FORT WORTH-Robert W. Lindley, a retired minister, died Friday at a Fort Worth Hospital. He was 81.
Funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Lakeland Street Baptist Church, where he was a member. Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in True Cemetery in Olney. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. today at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
The Rev. Lindley was born in Newcastle and had lived in Fort Worth since 1942. He had been an associate pastor at Loving Avenue Baptist Church and a pastor at Kearney Avenue Baptist Church and Bethel Baptist Church, all in Fort Worth. He had also been a pastor at Maranatha Baptist Church in Corpus Christi. He also retired as a machinist from Ling Temco Vought.
His wife, Clemmie Lindley, died in 1990.
Survivors: Son, Billy Lindley of Portland, Texas; brother, Joe Lindley of Graham; two sisters, Maxine Cardwell and Lillian Bourland, both of Vernon; one grandchild; and two great grandchildren.
