David H. Long came to Wright County in 1867 with his parents James and Martha Jane Wright Long. He married Margaret Allen April 17, 1872. David and Margaret gave land for the Mtn. Valley school in 1892. To this union 7 children were born. After the death of Margaret in March 26,1899, he married Nancy Gardner in September, 1899. David was a well-known Free Will Baptist minister and pastored numerous churches in the area. He pastored Mtn. Valley church as long as health permitted.
