With the exception of 15 years during which he lived in Bellefontaine, Mr. Hammond had spent his life on the farm where he was born.
While in Bellefontaine he was employed by the Ehien Auto Supply Company and the home was made at 425 East Brown Ave.
On November 28, 1912, he was united in marriage with Miss Hazel M. DuVall, of Salem township, Shelby county, Ohio.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Wilma Layton, of Sidney; Willis Hammond of Ft Wayne, Ind; Franklin, Robert, Gene Rae, Betty Lou, Janet, Joan and Carol Sue, at home. He also leaves two sisters Mrs. Sylvia Rector and Miss Lovie Hammond of Sidney and a granddaughter, Willa Faye Layton.
