Inger O Melkild came from Norway to America and married Jacob Jelle in Rock County MN in 1884 (per Family Search pilot search results). They had three sons:
1885 Henry Jacob
1887 Ole Myrr
1889 Richard Melvin
prior to Inger's death, which was noted only briefly in the 1890 Rock County Herald.
Inger died from TB just about a year and a half after grandpa Richard was born - her sister Randi was actually en route from Norway to help care for her when Inger succumbed to the disease. Randi actually was a crucial help to widower Jakob helping care for the three young boys for several years until she married and moved to ND. Another painful irony was that 42 years later, her last son Richard would also die of the same disease contracted while serving in the Army for WWI in the Philippines.
Inger's was one of the first interments in the East Palisades Cemetery of Rock County and, as such, was found to have no stone and being nearly unreachable under one of the large evergreen trees surrounding the church cemetery perimeter. However, the concrete top of the grave liner is evident at grass root level.

East Palisades cemetery is only about a mile or two East of West palisades Cemetery and can be seen with its large white Lutheran Church via Google satellite view. There are scores of headstones behind and to the west of the church.

I will be adding other relatives when time allows - one noted headstone misspelling is of Gjoa (Hjodlo) Tokheim, sister of Jacob Jelle - her stone mistakenly reads "Gjoa Torkhim" and she is listed on some sites as "Gjia" since the Norwegian character is often mistranscribed.
