She was born August 18, 1915 in Pettis County, a daughter of Elmer Young and May C. Lee Hyatt.
On September 15, 1940 she married Roy J. Lane who preceded her in death.
Alta was a member of the East Sedalia Baptist Church. She was a member of Leo Lewis' Sunday School class, worked in the nursery and served as literature secretary for many years.
Surviving are a son, Roy J. Lane, Jr. and his wife April of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Jay and Angie Lane, Mike and Kimberly Lane Pierce; great-grandchildren, Lane and Emma Pierce, Aubry Lane; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Cleta Lane.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Heckart Funeral Home, with Rev. Ray McDonald officiating.
Casket bearers will be Don McMullin, Peter McMullin, Lucas McMullin, Danny Brown, Brandon Weisner, and Mike Pierce.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
