Odell S. "Pat" Meredith

Odell S. (Pat) Meredith of San Benito, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2010 at age 93.

He was born in Davidson County, N.C. on November 26, 1916.

He moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 1965, after retirement from the Air Force.


He was a graduate of St. Mary's University and served in the Army and Air Force from 1941 to 1963. In World War II, for outstanding service to his country he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Berlin Airlift Medal, and six other Campaign Medals.

He was a member of the CPA firm, Scoggins, McKelvey, Almon, and Meadows from 1979 to 1990.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-one years, Mary Louise Meredith, and his second wife Shirley Jean Meredith.

He is survived by daughters, Patti (Terry) Krejci of Houston, Texas, Nancy (Paul) Coburn of Albuquerque, New Mexico, son Timothy (Melissa) Meredith of Dallas, Texas, five grandchildren, Matthew Coburn, Andrew Coburn, Meredith Ermis, Molly Clack, Callie Meredith and one great granddaughter Delaney Ermis.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Waldo Funeral Home, 619 N. Travis, Sherman, Texas, 75090.

He is to be buried at West Hill Cemetery. Members of the U. S. Air Force Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.
